Pharmacist

As a Pharmacist at Dignity Health, you pay attention to the details. It starts with verifying medication and dispensing the right dosages. There are many things on your list today: TPN and antibiotic monitoring, vaccine evaluations, Epogen and target drug monitoring, plus long-term care patient medication evaluations. You enjoy the clinical interaction and the direct impact you have on the patient’s outcome. That’s because making a difference matters to you. As part of the Dignity Health network, you work together to assess standards, policies and processes. The team is close-knit, dedicated, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. Pharmacy Intern

At last, you’re getting a hands-on feel for what it will be like to work as a Pharmacist. Every day, you do a little of everything – technical, clerical and so on. You help prepare, distribute, deliver and monitor medication. And you’ve discovered you enjoy interacting with patients more than you’d expected. Just yesterday, you and your supervising Pharmacist were able to help an elderly patient devise a creative system for managing her multiple medications. Best of all, you’re learning so much shadowing the clinical shift Pharmacist. You can envision a great, long-term career here at Dignity Health.

Pharmacy Technician

You began your career in Pharmacy about two years ago, and it’s been a great training ground for you. You do it all – from compounding of IV's and TPNs to delivering medications and preparing crash carts and anesthesia trays. You’re starting to perform some clinical functions, too. Today you’ll follow the clinical shift Pharmacist to perform monitoring and evaluation duties. It's like a family within the Pharmacy department, where every staff member has great communication skills, and they all work so well together. It’s fast paced and challenging work, but with the great support system around you, you get the extra push you need toward becoming a Pharmacist.
